I have been playing with an internal build of AIR targeting a release later this year. The new release has some great features under the hood for HTML/JS developers. Given the Webkit browser engine was used in AIR, we are refreshing it in the next AIR release. The updated engine even in early internal alpha passed the ACID 3 HTML/CSS tests with a 100/100 score.

Does your browser, ahem, application container pass?
See you at MAX!
Cheers,
Ted :)

Congrats! You guys are unbelievable, I can't wait to use this future version of AIR :-)
it doesn't work on Google Chrome :(
77/100

Thanks for letting us know when the next AIR version is being released! Please do us all a favor and make sure the browser support is also available for Flex!!!
The funny thing about google chrome is that it changes. sometimes 77/100, sometimes 79/100. weird!
I get 79/100 on Chrome and 71/100 on FF3 so this is a great accomplishment for Air and also interesting since Air and Chrome use Webkit.
That version of Webkit can be downloaded from http://nightly.webkit.org/
