Meeting Presentation: The ABCs of PureMVC
Presenter: Keith Sutton
PureMVC is a lightweight framework for creating applications based upon the classic Model-View-Controller design meta-pattern. This presentation will provide a brief overview of the MVC design pattern and the PureMVC (www.puremvc.org) implementation and then walk through how to use it to build a basic/foundation application. This presentation will also examine the use of Flex Visual Graph Library as a component employed within an PureMVC based application.
Free Flex Training Topic: Beginning Cairngorm
This will be a quick overview into the various parts of the Cairngorm framework. We will create a small Cairngorm application during the session. This app is the same one from my article on Devnet: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/graduating_pt3.html
RSVP for each session separately by sending an email to fugrsvp@gmail.com.
I am going to get many of the Flex team to hand around for the meeting so the croud will be extra special for this SILVAFUG meeting.
See you next Thursday!
Ted :)

Any chance of attending via Connect? Or a recording for viewing later?
Thanks,
Kirk
do you think to extend this kind of courses in other countries also?
I believe that all SILVAFUG meetings are broadcast over connect. I will ask Tom on the details.
Ted :)
The evening presentation is all part of the SILVAFUG Adobe User Group. Tom Ortega and the group put together the training on Cairngorm and the presentation on PureMVC.
I would certainly like to see these presentations be available to a much larger audience.
Ted :)
looks like a cool event. Why aren't things like this ever on the east coast? Don't neglect us.
For those on East Coast - New York City or tri-state - there are two events on the topic:
80 minutes presentation comparing Cairngorm, PureMVC and Mate -NYC Flex user group on 8/24
http://nyflex.org/
and
Cairngorm centric bootcamp 8/21
http://www.eventbrite.com/event/128489315
The next big one - on understanding and extending FLEX framework itself for enterprise developers on 8/19:

Here is the connect url for the meeting:

Also, at the http://silvafug.org site, there are other past recorded trainings. The first batch is a bit rough, but I'd like to think they're improving with time. :)
Is there a recording of the meeting?
Thanks
Will the materials about PureMVC and Cairngorm be available on the site sometime soon?
I'm currently investigating the two and trying to decide which path to go down.
