FlexComponents hits 1000 Developers!!!

I am pleased to announce that FlexComponents Discussion List has cross over 1000 developers subscribed. It has been slow building but the last few months we have been adding 100-200 developers a month. The growth in Nov06, Dec06, and Jan07 really highlight the growth in Flex and the interest in extending Flex.

Ely has a great post today on the extensibility of Flex as a framework vs HTML. It is a great read and he posts a custom SuperImage component that supports caching and simplifies loading images within ItemRenderers.

Join FlexComponents!

Speaking Lists...The other day I got ADOBE GO URLS made for a few lists:

FlexComponents --> http://www.adobe.com/go/flexcomponents
FlexCoders --> http://www.adobe.com/go/flexcoders
FlexJobs --> http://www.adobe.com/go/flexjobs

Anyone interested in another Flex Component Developer Summit? I think we should have another one in 2007.

More to come!

Ted :)

    Yes, another Flex Component Developer Summit is a great idea. But this time open it to everyone, or a least invite me :)

    Another Flex component summit would be awesome. I'd love to see what other folks are working on these days, and now that a lot of us are deep inside the framework, I think the discussion possibilities will be nearly infinite.

    Another component summit would be great. Just reviewing the materials from the summit, as I wasn't there, was very very helpful. Be cool to see it in person, or live connect rooms.

    ACDS 2007 would be wonderful. Just please call it 'Conference' this time so i can run around with an ACDC t-shirt without looking too much like a nerd.. haha :)

    Would be great, especially in time of pre-release of Apollo - so it is educational for developers and will show a lot of resources for the platform. Also, making live /recorded sessions for participants "showcase" sessions in MaxUp timeFrame (15 mins/person) will give boost to their products.

    This is probably not the best place to post this, but since there are links like "http://www.adobe.com/go/flexcomponents" here, ... Why have the Adobe.com servers been so Slow and Erratic for the last couple months??? Is there something I missed?
