Goodbye Blogger, Goodbye Google!!!

I have been with Blogger for 365 posts. Today they decided to upgrade the service and killed off support for RSS, RDF forcing everyone to ATOM whether you like it or not. This screwed up 100% of my syndication and left me with no choice but to undo Blogger.

For Goggle to screw up Blogger this badly shows where that entire company is headed, it is just a big experiment on the verge of implosion. I depended on their service, they screwed up, and lost a customer. Quality matters and this sort of thing shouldn't have happened.

Goodbye Blogger, Goodbye Google.

argggggg!!!!

I really think its no joke that it is a very large social datamining experiment of sorts. Its down right scary if you think too much about it.

Also goes to show the risks in decentralized data storage and service dependencies. Once the service flops so does all your important stuff that either completely lives there or relies on it to work. Hopefully the near future promise of some particular occasionally connected computing platform will help to lessen these risks.

I'll be glad when the goog bites the dust for good.

Amazing that they'd drop easy XML outputs. Lame, actually. Watch the UNDO button get clicked.

Shame for third party applications, we went into same problems, shame ...

Yup, its a shame. I was working on a flex project to read from blogger communities and pull everything together.

However, thats completely not "doable" now.
