I have watched the release of 7 versions of Flash Players but somehow Player 9 is a wildly different release. This release adds AS3 support, a JIT compiler, and a wildly improved AS3 API. FP9 is very advanced and yet remains smaller than 1.2MB.

Good point about "sneak attack"... the video abilities in FP6 snuck under the radar too.
It's a good, capable engine, capable of fitting easily into a wide range of environments, but there's also a whole ton of update pull from its universal use on the web -- remarkable times.
Interesting time, everyone has been waiting for this day...
I am just looking forward to see great Apps that would use the power of AS3 and Flash Player 9.

can we still get flex 3 beta after flex 2 is released? can we still download it for free?
