Dear Flash MX 2004, I have struggled with you for so long and starting today we are through. I have overlooked your crashes, slow start-up, bugs, and quirky workflow for too long to remember and now that Flash 8 Professional is out, I am never going back. Good riddance!
Flash 8 is without a doubt the single best release of Flash to leave Macromedia. New features aside, there are some really impressive internal changes that provide a breath of fresh air for developers and designers. The designer features got a major overhaul but the essential developer features are rock solid. Having worked with Flash 8 for a while now, I have yet to encounter a crash, a serious glitch, or a minor issue that impedes workflow. The quality of this release is simply amazing. Considering all the new features and changes, to see software this high quality ship is inspiring to me.
I would like to personally thank all the Engineers and QA teams at Macromedia. Considering I use Flash every single day, the changes in Flash 8 will save me weeks of time over the coming year. Thanks for listening, focusing, and getting the important things right in this release.
Personally, I would upgrade to Flash 8 Professional simply for the stability and quality of this release. This is the feature that matters and Macromedia scored a perfect 10 in my book. The polish on Flash 8 is perfect!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Cheers,
Ted ;)

Ah, but what about the Ukrainian?
Sorry for the errant capitalization. All fixed. :)
Actually, I'm Flash developer from Ukraine. :)
And I am actually a Polish Flash developer, born and raised in Switzerland. Hehe.
Best D. Gasienica
Using Flash 8 for only 24 hours now and I have seen about 10 crashes which resulted in loss of work.
btw, all crashes happened during 'convert to compiled clip'
Can you document the exact steps to duplicate the error. Please Zip up the FLA and send it to me at ted@powersdk.com and I will see that it gets to the right people. Bugs happen in releases this big, it sucks you found a crasher.
Ted ;)
